Barbadian brands were well received in the UK recently, at the diaspora event, “A Lil Bit of BIM Bajan Heritage Family Fun Day”. The fun day, held at the Coventry & North Warwickshire Sports Club, was a hub for all things Barbadian, bringing the food, culture and music of Barbados to the UK under the slogan “A Taste of Barbados.”
It was here on May 26, 2019, that popular Barbadian products were promoted on behalf of the BIDC. To maintain a presence and build brand awareness of a number of the BIDCs clients, a Distributor and Consultant of International Brands, UK, worked to highlight and publicize a range of well-known Barbadian brands to a mixed diaspora and UK audience.
Local well-known brands like Plus, Tiger Malt, Twist, Frutee and other beverages from Banks Holdings Limited (BHL); pepper sauces, jams, syrups and seasonings from Delish Products, Aunt May’s and Caribbean Treats; candy and snacks from Caribbean Confection Co. (CCC ) and BIBI's Snacks, were the focus at the event, and received positive feedback from enthusiastic attendants.
Barbadian singer and 2018 Calypso Monarch, Anderson “Blood” Armstrong was a featured performer at the event which was hosted by the National Council of Barbadian Associations (UK), in collaboration with the Barbados High Commission.
