BIDC Advanced Leather Goods Fabrication Workshop

The BIDC, as part of its efforts to engender a cadre of highly skilled artisans in the production of quality leather craft products, is hosting an Advanced Leather Goods Fabrication Workshop.
Scheduled to begin April 29, 2017 persons are asked to call the BIDC at 427 5350 or email Janice Forte at jforte@bidc.org to express their interest by April 12, 2017. Participants will be selected through an interview process.

Duration: 16 weeks
Course Fee: $350
The training consist of two (2) workshops which are running simultaneously. Registrants should therefore select either workshop 1 OR workshop 2.
Workshop 1: The Fabrication of Footwear

Workshop 2: The Fabrication of Bags and Accessories
Instructor Marva Maynard
Topics to be covered:
Product Design, Sketching, Pattern Making, and the Fabrication of Footwear, Bags and Accessories from Leather.
Days and Times: (For both workshops)
Saturdays 9am – 1pm
Wednesdays 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

The training will be conducted at the factory of Eastlanders Manufacturing Barbados Ltd, Vauxhall Christ Church
Tools and Materials
Participants will be given a list of the hand tools and materials they will need to purchase for the course.
Certificate of Completion will be issued by the BIDC on the student’s successful completion of the assigned course project.
